After almost half a year of waiting, Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B biographical film finally hit the screens on Saturday night at 8/7c, with the world premiere on a US Network Lifetime.
The movie starred Alexandra Shipp from House of Anubis and Drumline: A New Beat playing the role of a late R&B singer Aaliyah Haughton, who died in a plane crash in 2001.
But, meanwhile the premiere of the movie, the world has spoken. With other 30 thousand tweets with the hashtag #LifetimeDisrespectsAaliyah, everyone already hated on how disrespectul it was from Lifetime to premire a biopic like this, even though the ratings spoke differently.
But the controversy didn't stop us from loving the movie, and that's just because Alexandra from HOA is a part of it. What did you think about the movie? Did you love Alexandra showing off her true talent? Tell us on tumblr and be sure to subscribe to Sibuna-City to hear our latest news!
